Written by Tim Bindl
Created on 8/20/2010 1:21:49 PM

For many of us hunting with our buddies is an on going tradition. For me, 2010 changed that tradition, when I asked my wife, Tara if she would like to head out this year for her 1st turkey hunt. Suprisingly, she said yes!! In WI we have 6 season to apply for, knowing how cold the 1st few seasons tradition are, I had her apply for 4 season, which...

I bought another trophy cam, so I now have two running. The new one seems to have something wrong with the IR display. I left it up for another round of pictures, so we'll see how the next ones turn out. Bucks are starting to look pretty good.

I was pretty excited about this years trip. It was my first time planning the trip by myself. I started months in advance with picking the dates June 8th-13th, and dehydrating food. There were to be 4 of us going my dad, my sister, my childhood friend and neighbor Brad (from last year) and myself. As the date slowly approached I tied up all the...

Freedom Fish 2010
Written by Mike Lauenstein
Created On 7/8/2010 7:14:33 AM

I talked to a lot of people who had some troubles fishing over the 4th of July weekend due to the increase boat traffic, jet skiers and pressure from other fishermen. Well, I wish I could say the same (or not)!

We only got out a couple hours a day (if that) since we had the families along and three one year olds. That said, we made...

Our fishing guide Bob’s boat had broken down on the Wednesday night before we got into Kewaunee. We knew we would not be able to get out until at least Thursday evening,...

Question
Written by Brian Trettin
Created on 6/25/2010 3:45:50 PM

I know that this is not a blog sight, but with everyones vast knowledge I figured that this would be a great place to ask a question about a hunt.

I am looking at going on a guided bear, mule deer, elk,or moose hunt. I was wondering if anyone could give me any guidance on a good hunt or what to look for when trying to find the right...

Written by Nic Dittbrenner
Created On 6/11/2010 11:46:59 AM

As some of you may know, I have a passion for shed hunting bordering on addiction. I have looked for sheds in the past, but never really got into it much, until this year. I had good luck looking for whitetail sheds this year, so as the fishing trip in Canada drew closer; I began to think about the possibilities of finding a moose paddle in...

Back to Snowshoe Lake, Ontario
Written by Mike Lauenstein
Created On 6/7/2010 5:31:16 PM

As many times as you can cast, you can catch walleye on Snowshoe Lake. It is incredible when you can hit the same spots throughout the week and they will produce as consistently as if they were never fished! The size structure was not quite as big on the walleyes, but Lambie hit a couple nice northerns again.

Mandi's Dream (Snowshoe...

We left out for Ft. McCoy on Sunday, May 2nd for our fifth year hunting turkeys there. We set up at the campground and my dad, my son Nolan and I relaxed and enjoyed the evening with some fishing and campfire time.

On Monday, we were up at 3:30 AM and in the stand by 5AM. I didn't hear a gobble or see a bird all day. At noon, I...

Wisconsin Fun in the Wind
Written by Mike Lauenstein
Created On 5/4/2010 12:16:43 PM

The Wisconsin fishing opener always seems to be hit and miss for us. We haven't missed an opener in quite a long time, but we usually struggle to find the walleyes. This year was the same, but for different reasons... the wind was horrible. Our aspirations of cruising out to Trout Lake were beaten back with 30+ MPH winds. There was no way our...

My 2008 hunting season was a success and what to do with the carcasses? Late season coyote snaring!!! I got permission a farm in my area that had alot of coyotes and thought this would be the best place to get my feet wet and try my luck at snaring. My trapping partner and I got together a year earlier and made a batch of snares. So I boiled them...

My second annual ice fishing trip with my friend, Dan on Little Bay De Noc out of Escanaba, Michigan actually started a day earlier. With the early season catch and release trout opener in Wisconsin this weekend, I put about 200 miles on my truck looking for good access around the mid west side of the State. I was able to locate quite a few places on the Willow and Kinnickinnic rivers. I chose to try my luck in the Kinnickinnic today and had a great day on the water. The...

My hooded drake merganser mount was finally finished. I shot this bird in North Dakota two years ago. Lauey and I were hunting on the south end of a pond and I made a nice shot on this bird as it was flying behind us. The bird was done by BigFoote Taxidermy out of Barronett, Wisconsin.

Pool 4 - Producing like usual!

Nic, Johnson and I hit the usual spot hoping to get into the walleyes before the circus starts. We hit a good number and it turns out a guy that was fishing near us ended up hitting a 13.5 pounder and letting her go! It made me a little ill to know we were right there, but left about an hour too early. Either way, still a good time and we did...
