Better late than never. We did make it out to ND again this year, but it was a shorter trip. Day 1 found us in water spot we've hunted quite a bit. We ended up shooting a mix of divers, a couple birds short of our limit. The highlight of the morning, was John Boy making a beautiful shot on some Can's.

Ten minutes (Yes 10 minutes) into the drive to Kenora a big doe took off my driver's side mirror. Duct tape and a cheap mirror from Walmart fixed me up. We got into Kenora aboyt 8:00 pm. After a few beers and dinner at the Day's Inn we packed it in for the night.

I'm headed to Ft. McCoy (Tomah area) for my first turkey hunt of the year. Just wondering if anyone else has hunted yet and how the birds were acting (with or without hens, gobbling, quiet etc...). I have a tag for 4th, 5th and 6th seasons so hopefully I'll hit one of the seasons right! |

My friend, Dan, and I headed up to Little Bay De Noc near Escanaba, MI for our annual ice fishing outing on Wed mornining. We were fishing by 3 p.m. with high hopes. We only managed two flags and iced a 22" northern. The group next to us got a fat 35" northern which they gave to Dan to pickle.
