A sunset for Gramps
~ Sarah House (9/14/2009 @ 3:20 PM)

Labor Day 2009

I was visiting my grandparents over Labor Day weekend in Forest Lake, MN (just north of Minneapolis/St. Paul 30 min.) I took off around dusk, traveling the water's edge of Forest Lake. The sunset was amazing and I looked out and saw the perfect photo opportunity with a fisherman.

I should share, this photo has more meaning than just a fisherman and a sunset to me. This Labor Day holiday was pretty emotional for me, my grandpa shared with the family that he had just been diagnosed with lung cancer. The doctors are giving him a year.
The weekend was kind of a wreck for me - let's just say I'm having a tough time dealing with it. Not even 4 miles down the road, this sunset appeared. It was so peaceful and just what I needed. I think God guided me in the right place at the right time to give me a little peace of mind about Gramps.
