Wisconsin River Fishing
~ Chris Lambie (5/15/2007 @ 9:05 AM)

It was the nicest day of 2007 so far and I got to fish all day long. My wife had a conference at the Kalahari in the Dells that she took me to so I decided to rent a boat and fish for the whole day. I had all my gear packed (sans alcohol, rivers and beer dont go good when your flying solo) and loaded the boat up by 8:00 am.

I was told to fish close to the dam for eyes but the baitshop owner said it was real slow. He said the only way people were catching them was a non-retrevial method. Let it sit on the bottom with virtually no movement and wait for the lightest of bites. Well, that I did. Unfourtunatly I fell asleep for awhile, so assuming i slept for a good 45 minutes, that's when the eyes starting running (at least thats what I'm telling myself).

So, I caught nothing...nothing but an amazing burn. I don't know if you can see good enough, but I only has enough sunblock for the tops of my shoulders. Stuuupid.

I did however see a couple of sturegon caught and hundreds of them jumping out of the water. Sometimes they would flop right next to your boat and scare the hell out of you. I also made a few friends. I fed these 2 ducks half of my sub and they followed me all day.

I'd still rather get severly burnt while out fishing than doing much of anything else.
